Markovtsy Cavalry

There were three entirely different units of Markov cavalry, which tends to confuse matters.

Markov Horse Sotnia

The Markov Infantry Regiment, while it was still just the "Officer Regiment", formed in the Kuban. Naturally it was easy for it to recruit a small mounted force from among the Cossacks. That unit remained part of the Markovtsy as effectively its divisional cavalry. At its peak, in late 1919, it was a divizion of two sotnias.

Its uniform is explained here, but was just a normal Kuban uniform with black and white distinctions.

Mounted Scouts

The Markov Regiment eventually added a mounted Scout komand. It seems, from the picture of them below, it was dressed like the infantry.

Black Sea Horse

This regiment was a Kuban Cossack regiment that served alongside the Markovtsy from the middle of 1919. By the time it made it to the Crimea it was down to sotnia size. It then grew back to become the Independent Markov Horse Divizion, merged with the remains of the Markov Horse Sotnia as part of the reformed Markov Division.

Its uniforms are shown here.
