The
Participation of the Don Cossacks in the Fight against Bolshevism
The
following is much of a small book by Colonel Dobrynin of the Don Host
General Staff, written just after the civil war. It covers the sweeping
campaigns back and forward across the territory of the Don as well as
the main political events.
This material has been translated first into French and from that into
English, so I cannot vouch for its accuracy. (For those that read
Russian, I have seen a copy of the original on-line.)
It is presented largely for its information about the numbers of troops
during the campaigns, about which Colonel Dobrynin was in a position to
be well informed. Such material would not seem terribly subject to
errors in translation.
